Restaurants Really Buzz for Bees
Can you imagine what it would be like to eat at your local café, diner, bistro, tavern, or family restaurant, independent or chain … let alone a celebrity chef establishment … if there weren’t gazillions of honey bees off-stage, doing the prep work? The real prep work, that is. The work that gives cooks and chefs what they need to create a mouth-watering, deliciously-spiced fruit, vegetable or nut-laced main course or side dish for you?
Without food-herb-and-spice crop pollination work, which is primarily performed by the world’s healthy honey bee populations, restaurants, as we know them, would pretty much be out of business. Or, said differently, would do a grim morph, and deteriorate into ‘sustenance survival stations’. Not a pretty picture.
The Restaurants Buzz for Bees initiative is enlisting great eateries, large and small, vegetarian or rib joint, white table cloth or Formica, coffee shops, bakeries, taverns that serve food as well as great beer, caterers, ice cream shoppes, chocolate bars, slow food, fast food … as Plan Bee Partners, promoting a bee-wise and bee-grateful clientele.
